Roar out for points against Eastern Suburbs in NPL QLD

Brisbane Roar’s NPL side will be out for three points when they take on the Eastern Suburbs on Sunday 30 July to set the tone for a strong and positive back end of the NPL QLD season.

Last time these two teams met, Brisbane had an outstanding performance and were victorious with a 5-0 win. They will look to replicate this result in Sunday’s match and return to winning form.

Head Coach Owen Baker would like to see his team focus on themselves and build the match from the start to play the game on their terms.

“We will be focusing on our performance only, we will show Eastern Suburbs the utmost respect but at the end of the day, we want to perform well and win our game,” Baker said.

“We have our own goals for the rest of the season and making sure we perform well against Easts is our next priority,” he added.

To secure the three points, Baker hopes his squad can come out strong and score early in the match.

“We will be working hard to make sure we start the game well, get on the front foot, press hard and try and score in the first 15 minutes of the game,” he said.

“Every game is a 90-minute performance but after conceding goals early in some games this year, I really want the boys to have some extra focus at the start of games and build on the game, rather than chasing from behind.”

KO is 5pm at Heath Park.
