Roar welcome Singaporean international striker Danelle Tan

Brisbane Roar is delighted to welcome Singaporean international striker Danelle Tan to the club ahead of the 2024/25 Liberty A-League season.

Tan holds the records for being the youngest footballer to play for Singapore’s under-19 women’s national team at age 13 and the youngest goal scorer for the senior national team at age 14.

She has made 22 appearances for Singapore’s senior national team, scoring on seven occasions.

The 19-year-old is also the fifth-youngest international goal scorer in women’s football and the first Singaporean woman to play football in Europe.

The young striker currently plays for German Westfalenliga club Borussia Dortmund where she has made 27 appearances and scored 16 goals.

Tan started her career with Singaporean Women’s National League side Still Aerion where she scored in her debut match before joining Sinagporean Premier League side Lion City Sailors for two seasons. She then made the trip to Europe to play for the London Bees before establishing herself as a regular goal scorer at Borussia Dortmund.

Danelle looks forward to starting her next chapter in Brisbane.

“I’m really excited about joining Brisbane Roar. The club presented a professional opportunity and environment that I felt would be best for my development,” Tan said.

“I’m just looking to hit the ground running and settle in as quickly as possible. I want to learn and grow as much as I can as a player training in an elite environment with a very high level of players.”

Tan will wear the prestigious no.9 jersey for Brisbane Roar.

She will link up with her new teammates for the first time when preseason commences in September.

Stay tuned with more new arrivals for the club’s A-League Women’s squad set to be announced in the coming weeks.
