Brisbane Roar are delighted to welcome exciting young defender Isabela Hoyos to the club ahead of the 2024/25 Liberty A-League season on a scholarship contract.
Hoyos has represented Australia with the Junior Matildas, most recently playing in the 2024 U-17 Women’s Asian Cup Indonesia, alongside fellow Roar teammates Ruby Cuthbert and Grace Kuilamu.
The 16-year-old has been playing in the Football Queensland QAS program and has continued to improve and develop herself as a player to earn this scholarship.
The Queenslander looks forward to gaining professional experience by training alongside some of Queensland and Australia’s best players, pushing herself to perform at the professional level.
“I’m very grateful for it,” Hoyos said.
“I’ve been working hard for a long time and to finally get something like this is very incredible.”
“I just want to get the experience from all the players and hopefully get a bit of game time but just going to train hard and put everything I’ve got into this team.”
