Brisbane Roar are pleased to announce that versatile defender Antonee Burke-Gilroy has signed a one-year contract extension, that will see him at the club through to the end of the 2024/25 season.
The versatile defender made his A-League debut for the Roar, appearing twice after signing as an injury replacement at the back end of the 2020/21 season.
Burke-Gilroy spent the past two campaigns with Perth Glory before returning to Brisbane in November 2023.
During his time in the West, Burke-Gilroy made 34 appearances, scoring once with a stunning long-range effort against Melbourne Victory.
Prior to his previous spell in Brisbane, Burke-Gilroy had stints overseas in Portugal with Academica and in the United States with Tacoma Defiance.
The versatile fullback has played 16 games so far this season, making 2 assists, 23 clearances and 5 blocks and will look to continue this form into the next campaign.
The 26-year-old said he looks forward to continuing next season and bringing back an exciting brand of football for the supporters.
“I’m excited and appreciative to be here for the new season as the club moves forward towards bigger things,” Burke-Gilroy said.
“The brand of attacking football that Ruben is implementing is exciting and I’m up for the challenge to achieve my personal goals as well as working as a team. Bringing exciting and competitive football for the Roar fans to watch.”
