Brisbane Roar suffered a 2-0 loss to Melbourne City at AAMI Park on Saturday night in Round 11 of the Ninja A-League.
Melbourne City were on the front foot from the start, after City’s Leticia McKenna opened the scoring in just the fifth minute capitalising on a defensive error from Brisbane.
McKenna quickly followed with her second of the night in the ninth minute to secure a brace at AAMI Park.
McKenna’s double was enough to keep Roar at bay for the remainder of the match as Roar were potentially suffering fatigue due to the short turnaround from their victory at home earlier this week.
Roar will shift their focus to hosting Adelaide United on home soil next Sunday 19 January in hopes of returning to the winner’s circle.
