Brisbane Roar shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw in front of home support against the reigning champions on Friday night.
Brisbane Roar showcased their attacking intent early up front with a chance from last week’s goal-scorer, Justin Vidić who beat defence and had a shot that went wide.
In the 23rd minute, Dimitri Valkanis put a firm pass in for Sam Klein who took a strike at goal that again rolled outside of the posts.
After the break, Milo Stajić had an exciting volley chance that went straight to the hands of Patrick Beach.
Roar’s last chance came in the 76th minute when Youstin Salas was fouled just outside the 18-yard box. Jay O’Shea stepped up for the free kick and launched the ball over the crossbar for another good chance.
The game ended in a hard-fought 0-0 draw against last year’s champions in front of an energetic Den support.
Up next, Roar head north to the Sunshine Coast for their Round 4 clash against Newcastle Jets at the stunning Sunshine Coast Stadium.
