Brisbane Roar Captain, Tom Aldred says his side are looking to continue their strong home form ahead of Thursday’s Isuzu UTE A-League Round 9 clash against Central Coast Mariners at Suncorp Stadium.
Roar have made Suncorp Stadium a fortress so far this season, taking two wins and a draw since returning to the ground at the beginning of the 2023/24 season.

“It’s our home, it’s Brisbane, it’s what the fans know as Brisbane Roar’s home and it was really important to come back here,” Aldred said.
“It was on us to put performances on and I feel like we’ve started to make it a fortress in the way we’re playing and the results that we’ve got, so long be it.
“We’ve got to keep working hard and focus on improving every week and winning games because we want to make teams know it’s a tough place to go.”
Roar and the Mariners have already gone head-to-head once this season with a pair of first half goals from Florin Berenguer and Thomas Waddingham securing a 2-1 win at Industree Group Stadium last month.
Brisbane are unbeaten in their last nine A-League meetings with the Mariners (W7, D2) and have kept four clean sheets from their last five matches. The last time Mariners took three points at Suncorp Stadium was in April 2014.
Aldred said his side were solely focused on their own processes ahead of Thursday’s clash with Central Coast.
“I thought they were a good side last time we played them, they’ve been on a good run, they’ve got some threats in their team but with every game we concern ourselves with ourselves,” Aldred said.
“I think that’s one thing we’ve been very good at this year is looking at ourselves and how we can affect the opposition, we know they’re good side but so are we and we’ll look how we can affect them.”
Thursday’s match which is Roar’s final home game of 2023 kicks off at 6:45pm at Suncorp Stadium. Get your tickets HERE
