With 33 appearances across 3 seasons with Western Sydney Wanderers and Wellington Phoenix, new recruit Talitha Kramer has joined the Brisbane Roar for the 2022/23 Liberty A-League campaign.
Now having made her way to Queensland, she is looking forward to pulling on the orange and black for the Roar in the upcoming season.
“I’m really excited to have signed for the Roar for the upcoming season, I’m really looking forward to working with Garrath and the coaching staff. I really can’t wait to get started!” Kramer said.
Kramer will join up with Garrath McPherson’s squad following the conclusion of her National Premier League season with Capalaba Bulldogs.
So far in 2022, Kramer has recorded 11 appearances for the Bulldogs across the league and cup, scoring two goals.
During the season she has teamed up with fellow Roar players Hollie Palmer and Larissa Crummer, and she will be looking to draw on that familiarity when the new season begins.
“I’ve been playing on the wing for Capalaba and linked up really well with Larissa and Hollie, I can’t wait to keep working with them throughout the A-League season,” Kramer said.
A member of Wellington’s inaugural Liberty A-League squad last season, Kramer took great pride in helping the club in its first season and will look to take on a leadership role within the Roar squad.
“To get another opportunity to come back into the A-League with Wellington is something I’ll be forever grateful for. It set me up in a pretty good space to have a great season with the Roar and help out with some of the younger players,” she said.
“I took on that leadership role being the most senior player with Wellington. I loved helping out some of the younger girls and they helped me out in the games as well! I’m always happy to help to build a strong squad.”
Having played against the Roar several times, Kramer is looking forward to joining up with the side she has enjoyed several tough battles against.
“Brisbane were always a really tough side to come up against! They were always really physical and really clinical. We always knew we were in for a tough game when we played the Roar.”
“Last season with Wellington when we came up against them [The Roar] it was always really tough because of their never-say-die attitude, and they really pushed us to the limit in those games.”
Head Coach Garrath McPherson is eager to add the versatile Kramer to the squad with her ability to contribute in a number of ways.
“An adopted Queenslander, Talitha has been playing in our NPL Women’s competition this season after relocating from New South Wales a couple of years ago. She spent last season with Wellington Phoenix and has previously spent time with Western Sydney,” McPherson said.
“She is a left-footed wide player who can contribute both as a defender and an attacker. For those that have had the chance to watch her playing locally, you will notice the physical presence she brings to her team with a tremendous amount of speed, power and strength. I am excited to welcome Talitha to the club and cannot wait to work with her on the pitch.”
