Hore: Roar looking to bounce back at home

Henry Hore is pleased to have gotten match minutes for two consecutive weeks now and hopes the squad can secure a big three points against ladder leaders Wellington Phoenix on Friday night.

“It’s great to be back, I’ve missed it a lot. I played 30 first game, 60 [second game], so we’re just building into it, hopefully I get more this weekend,” Hore said.

“It’s been hard watching on; it hasn’t been the greatest period. Been looking at it, and with players coming back, hopefully we can get three points this weekend.”

Hore reflected on the Roar’s 2-0 loss to Central Coast Mariners and shared his thoughts on the challenge that lies ahead of them on Friday night.

“It was a positive performance last weekend, it was a pretty even game, they just took their chances, who knows on another day we could’ve won the game,” he said.

“It is a big challenge, they’re right up there but we’ve been working hard this week and the performance last weekend wasn’t too bad so hopefully we can have another good performance and get the three points.”

Hore believes Roar’s finals hopes are not over after highlighting how close together the league ladder is.

“We’re still confident, this league is very tight and if you get on a roll and win a few games together, you get right back up there so hopefully we can start it this weekend!”

“We do have a plan, we’ve gone through it this week at training, we’ve worked hard. Hopefully we can implement it this weekend.”

The 24-year-old praised new signing Marco Rojas, saying that his experience and quality could make a positive impact the team.

“He’s a great signing. I remember I used to watch him back in the day, he was so good for Melbourne Victory and for Wellington as well so just having him coming in with that experience hopefully I can learn off him and hopefully he will bring a lot to our team.”

“Hopefully he can bring that quality in that final third, that’s his game, he’s very good, very clinical so hopefully he can bring that composure and that quality.”

“It seems like he’s fit in really well, hopefully he can get some minutes this weekend.”
