Departing Brisbane Roar Captain Matt McKay says his side are looking to run out the season on a high, beginning with a win against Newcastle Jets on Saturday night at Suncorp Stadium (6:50pm KO).

Brisbane welcome the Jets to Suncorp Stadium for their penultimate match of the Hyundai A-League 2018/19 season.

The Roar come into Saturdayā€™s clash off the back of a 2-1 win over Wellington Phoenix in their last outing ā€“ a result which McKay says leaves his side full of confidence ahead of their matchup against the Jets.

ā€œWe needed it, our fourth win of the season. Overall it was a really good performance, it wasnā€™t lucky, we just did the right things well,ā€ McKay said.

ā€œWeā€™re back at home & we need to challenge ourselves to do that again and get better. Letā€™s make these last two games really strong performances.

ā€œItā€™s always good to finish the season at home in front of our fans where we can hopefully put on a good show and build for next season.ā€

An 87th minute Eric Bautheac header stole a point for the Roar in a 2-2 draw with Newcastle the last time the sides met at McDonald Jones Stadium in January.

The Roar skipper added the Jets would provide his side with a tough test and said fans should expect another exciting contest between the two sides.

ā€œTheyā€™re a good side, theyā€™re very good going forward and have plenty of dangerous players. Dimitri Petratos is a good friend and also an exceptional player,ā€ McKay continued.

ā€œTheyā€™re out of finals contention like we are too, but that doesnā€™t mean you wonā€™t see great football, you saw that the other day with two great goals.ā€

Be sure to hang around following full-time as we say farewell to a Club legend on the pitch at Suncorp Stadium.
