Brisbane Roar have suffered a 6-0 defeat in the AFC Champions League against Ulsan Hyundai at the Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Roar were outplayed throughout the 90 minutes by the Korean outfit, who played at a frenetic pace, in near-freezing temperatures at the Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium.

Ulsan started the match on the front foot and looked dangerous attacking down the flanks. The hosts managed to stretch the Roar’s back line which ultimately paid dividends with an early opening goal for Kim In-Sung.

The advantage was doubled just three minutes later as a devatasting counterattack ended with Mislav Orcic tucking a low shot inside the bottom left corner before the Croatian added a third with a carbon-copy finish on 34 minutes.

The two goalscorers caused problems for the Roar throughout the whole first half and came close to extending the lead on a number of occasions.

Former Roar winger Dimitri Petratos provided the assist for Ulsan’s fourth as Captain Ivan Kovacec put the match seemingly beyond Brisbane’s reach shortly after the break.

Kim In-Sung became the second Ulsan Hyundai player to bag a brace shortly after the hour mark as more slick play from the Korean outfit undid a disjointed Roar side.

The Roar’s best chance of the match fell to starting debutant Kye Rowles, who found the target in the dying moments but was denied by Kim Yong-Dae.

Lee Jong-Ho added a sixth goal in injury time as the Roar suffered their first loss of the 2017 AFC Champions League camapign.

Goals

10′: Kim In-sung’s shot from the edge of the area weaves through the Roar defence and beats Jamie Young beat the posts. 1-0

55′: Dimitri Petratos leads the charge before cutting back to Ivan Kovacec who finds the net via a deflection and despite the desparate efforts of Young. 4-0
