Samuel Klein

2024/25 was a breakout campaign to remember for Queensland midfielder, Sam Klein who finished as the sides top scorer with five goals to his name after appearing 19 times – which included starts in all of the sides final 11 matches and missing just 13 minutes in that run.

Klein scored his first A-League goals with a second half brace in a 3-1 win over Perth Glory on his 21st birthday at HBF Park in Round 23 before scoring another double against the Mariners on the final day of the season and a first goal at Suncorp Stadium in the sides 2-1 win over Western United in Round 27.

Klein averaged 1.2 successful tackles per 90 – a number only bettered by Walid Shour for Brisbane throughout the 2024/25 campaign. The Gympie Diggers and Sunshine Coast FC junior’s impressive second half of the season earned him a call up for Australia’s U23 side for a pair of internationals against Korea Republic in June.

The box-to-box midfielder was upgraded to a two year scholarship contract after breaking into the starting eleven and putting in a series of standout performances in the back half of the 2024/25 campaign, Klein is now signed with Brisbane Roar until 2027.

A product of the Roar NPL program, Klein made his A-League debut in January 2022. The midfielder then headed to Scandinavia for a year before coming back to Queensland at Gold Coast Knights where he scored four league goals in a Premiership winning side and earned selection in the Queensland State team.
