ALDRED: We’ve started to make it a fortress

Roar have made Suncorp Stadium a fortress so far this season, taking two wins and a draw since returning to the ground at the beginning of the 2023/24 season.

On Thursday night Aloisi’s side will play host to Central Coast as they look to make it five matches unbeaten in Brisbane so far.

“The Brisbane Roar crowd always play a huge role because even when we had 5,000 the other week when it was raining it was still loud but the more supporters we get to the games the better it is for us,” Aloisi said.

“They do lift the players the Den, I don’t think people realize how much they lift that playing group and it’s always good to have that support.

“I always look at the playing group, it’s not about you know how I feel about it, it’s about the players and I know the players lift and I know the players want more supporters there.

“I think that we’ve played good enough football for more supporters to come out and watch and support Brisbane Roar, because that’s the football that they used to see so let’s hope that it’s a big crowd again.”

Roar and the Mariners have already gone head-to-head once this season with a pair of first half goals from Florin Berenguer and Thomas Waddingham securing a 2-1 win at Industree Group Stadium last month.

Brisbane are unbeaten in their last nine A-League meetings with the Mariners (W7, D2) and have kept four clean sheets from their last five matches. The last time Mariners took three points at Suncorp Stadium was in April 2014.

Thursday’s match which is Roar’s final home game of 2023 kicks off at 6:45pm at Suncorp Stadium. Get your tickets HERE
