Brisbane Roar Football Club was late this afternoon informed of Football Federation Australia’s decision in relation to the incident which occurred at the conclusion of Saturday’s Hyundai A-League match against Sydney FC at Suncorp Stadium.
As a result of its review into the incident, the FFA has determined Besart Berisha has breached the National Code of Conduct.
Having made this determination the FFA has imposed a sanction on Berisha of a one match suspension, with another one match ban suspended on condition of continued good behaviour.
As a part of FFA regulations Brisbane now has seven (7) business days in which to lodge an appeal against the decision if it so chooses.
The club will consider the decision of the FFA and a statement on the next course of action will be made in due course.
Until such time as the appeals process is concluded, Berisha will remain free to play in Hyundai A-League fixtures for the club.
At this time Brisbane Roar has not been informed by FFA of any further sanction to be imposed on the club as a result of the post-match incident.
