After last weekend-s draw with Canberra United, Brisbane Roar coach Belinda Wilson has the liberty of making slight alterations to her match day squad for tomorrow-s Westfield W-League round two match against Melbourne Victory.

Central defender Laura Alleway received a late international clearance, allowing her to travel south two days after returning from her overseas stint with Lincoln Ladies in the UK, while midfielder Ashley Spina will feature for the first time since injuring her knee last November.

Captain Clare Polkinghorne could be used in a midfield role with the inclusion of Alleway while last week-s substitute Tameka Butt is likely to see her cameo role extended.

“We-ve made some changes but it will be a similar line-up just slightly altered with the injection of Loz,” Wilson said.

“We-ll be a lot stronger going forward and more organised defensively.”

With Melbourne losing 2-0 in their Westfield W-League season opener, both sides will be chasing their first win of the season to keep up with early pace-setters Adelaide United and Perth Glory.

Former Gold Coast United Hyundai A-League coach Mike Mulvey has had even less time to work with his new team than Wilson had with hers but she was adamant both sides had done their preparations ahead of tomorrow match.

“I-ve watched a little bit of Melbourne and with Mike running the show, he-s obviously going to try to have his style imprinted on them,” she said.

“I know he studied our game last week so he-ll be well aware of our strengths and weaknesses and he-ll be guiding his team to try and exploit us where possible.

“We just have to stick to our game plan and be tidier on the ball.”
