Brisbane Roar will look to continue their fine pre-season form when they tackle Melbourne Victory at North Ipswich Reserve tomorrow afternoon.

The Roar recently recorded a 2-1 win over defending champions Central Coast Mariners in Bathurst and a resounding 3-0 triumph against Harry Kewell-s Melbourne Heart in Lismore two weeks prior.

There is bound to be plenty of interest as Head Coach Mike Mulvey faces off against one of his predecessor Ange Postecoglou with the Victory side is also expected to include former Roar players Mitch Nichols and Kosta Barbarouses.

Mike Mulvey is looking forward to seeing how some of the younger players handle the challenge.

“Last week we were without three key players and the younger players that came in really stepped up and the same will be expected tomorrow,” Mulvey said.

“It will be a stern test against Melbourne Victory – we haven-t played them for quite a while and I-m looking forward to it.”

A searing 31 degrees is predicted for Ipswich tomorrow and Mulvey believes that the heat could be a slight advantage for the Roar.

“In Queensland the heat always plays a part and it should be an advantage to us because we train in it all the time,” he said.

“But nowadays clubs are very professional in their preparation and hydration, so it shouldn-t be too much of an advantage to us.”

Kick off tomorrow at North Ipswich Reserve tomorrow is at 3pm. Tickets are still available at EventBrite.
